SILENT PRAYERS

Appreciation for the Gohonzon

With deepest respect, I offer my profound gratitude and appreciation to the Gohonzon, which embodies Nam myoho renge-kyo,the essence of the Lotus Sutra.

With deepest respect, I offer my profound gratitude and appreciation to Nichrin Daishonin, the Buddha of the Latter Day of the Law.

With deepest respect, I offer my profound gratitude and appreciation to Nikko Shonin.
Chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo three times.

Appreciation for the Three Founding Presidents

I offer my profound gratitude and appreciation for the three founding presidents of the Soka Gakkai-Tsunesaburo Makiguchi, Josei Toda and Daisaku Ikeda-for their noble example of selfless dedication to propagation of the Law, honouring them as the eternal mentors of kosen-rufu.
Chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo three times.

Prayers for Worldwide Kosen-rufu and for the deceased

I pray that the great vow for the worldwide kosen-rufu be fulfilled and that the Soka Gakkai International will  develop in this endeavour for countless generations to come.

I pray to accomplish my own human revolution, change my karma and fulfil all my wishes (Offer additional prayers here)

I pray for my deceased relatives and all those who have passed away, particularly for these
individuals: (Sound the bell continuously while offering prayers.)

Chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo three times.

I pray for peace throughout the world and the happiness of all living beings.

Sound the bell and chant
Nam-myoho-renge-kyo three times to conclude.

  15. The sharing of faith experiences--the transformation in people's lives realized through Buddhist practice--is a central element of discussion meetings. There is perhaps nothing more heartening for people struggling with problems than the example of others who have successfully confronted and overcome their own challenges. Thank you everyone for your support.

  62. Buddhism is just about self purification, there is no chanting, no verbalization, no worship to any diety in pure Buddhism. It just talks about self purification, adding any chanting will just impure the teachings of Budha.

    ReplyDelete
  63. This practice is based on the Lotus sutra, which is a compcompilation of Gautam Buddha's final teachings. If you read all the sutras, you see his teachings evolve in terms of what is most pertinent to the times that we live in.
If you took the time to acquaint yourself with the practice, you will see there is no worship and certainly no deity.

  73. You're missing part B.
SGI is the cult version of True Buddhism.
Their president started making up his own rules and was excommunicated, he then stole a Gohonzon and altered some characters, made Xerox copies and the whole SGI foundation has gone totally left field of what the pure core practice is, straying from the priesthood which was started by Nichiren Daishonin so that it would not be corrupted as SGI has done.

practicing through SGI is essentially slander. If you want the real practice, go through Nichiren Shoshu Temple. The direct one.
I hope everyone finds the best/correct path in order to attain enlightenment. Much love dear brothers and sister.

    1. Maybe Death Cat (what a name!) does not realise that the conflict started due to corrupt leadership? That was ended with the start of SGI!
