Nam Myo Ho Renge Kyo

After studying various Buddhist sutras Nichiren concluded that the Lotus Sutra contains the ultimate truth of Buddhism: that everyone without exception has the potential to attain Budhahood. The Sanskrit title of the Lotus Sutra Sad-dharma-pundarika sutra is translated into Japanese as Myoho Renge Kyo. To the title Nichiren prefixed nam indicating devotion to Myoho-renge-kyo.

Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is the ultimate law of the universe according to the teachings of Nichiren Diashonin. The invocation of Nam myoho renge kyo was established by Nichiren on 28 April 1253. The Daishonin says that the five characters of Myoho-renge-kyo are not only the essence of the Lotus Sutra but the "esssence of the lifetime teahings of the Buddha"

Nam means "to devote oneself to one's life". By devoting our lives to his law, we can tap into the life-state of Buddhahood inherent within our lives.

Myoho is the Mystic Law. Myo means the mysterious nature of our life from moment to moment, which the mind cannot comprehend or words express. Nichiren cites three attributes of the character Myo: To "open", to be "fully endowed" and to "revive". Myo is the mystic nature of life and ho to its manifestation.  One latent and unseen, the other active and manifest. Myo and ho correspond to death and life respectively.

Renge means the Lotus flower which blooms and produces seeds at the same time,  and thus represents the simultaneity of cause and effect.

Kyo  means sutra, voice or teaching of the Buddha.

Reciting Nam-myoho-rege-kyo with deep faith, even if just once, has infinitely vast and immeasurable power to revitalize our lives. Chanting diamoku is a joyous declaration that the boundless life state of the Buddhahood is inherent in our lives.

Dr. Akash Aauchi in Solan

Dr. Aakash Aauchi, a senior leader of BSG visited Solan on 5-5-11. It was a great moment for all the members of Solan. I attended this meeting at a members place. What a down to earth person he is. I was impressed by his humbleness. He shared his struggle in his life and shared some inspiring guidances of Sensei. One of the most beautiful guidance he shared was that whatever path you choose  or life puts you on can lead you to your goal, what is important is your sincerity. Suppose you want to go to the ocean and if you don't know the path, you just need to walk straight in any of the direction, you will find a small stream and if you follow that stream you will find a river and if you follow that river you will definitely reach to the ocean.

So important is your determination, conviction, and perseverance.
